Katie is passionate about child development. In 2020 she opened a nature-based preschool out of their home inspired by her time as an assistant teacher in a Waldorf kindergarten. Much of what we make, we also use in our home and nature-based programs.
Taylor is a natural when it comes to woodworking, building, and problem solving. He has worked in remodeling and most recently in a wood shop where they made high quality dovetail drawers and furniture. He helped Katie bring her vision to life for the preschool by building a lot of the furniture and some of our wood toys and tools.
It was in building the preschool together that we dreamed up WillowBee Toys. Our tiny house in the city didn't have the space we needed to start this business. After lots of prayer, God led us to the perfect property in Kentucky. We took a leap of faith and left all we knew in Colorado. Our 8 acre homestead nestled in the woods inspires our work, along with our young daughter who fills our life with joy and is our "why" behind all we do.
It is our hope that our play goods will carry love, peace, and hours of joyful play to your home and be heirloom pieces passed down for generations to come.
